ANZ Banking Group has named Paul White, it’s head of wealth, to the newly established position of divisional chief information officer, Australia. In his new job, the long-serving executive will be in charge of the entire technological vision and objectives for the Australian aspect of the trade. White’s duties will also include the development of ANZ’s new banking platform as part of its ‘ANZx’ transformation program.
White’s vast IT expertise, according to Florian, provides ANZ with the necessary knowledge for the “important job that is critical to ANZ’s future growth.” “Paul is an excellent fit for this newly established job, with a strong technical experience and a strong emphasis on delivering for customers,” he added. “He has a strong technological experience, and also a strong delivery focus and track record in leading teams through change, establishing the environment for high performance, and building great relationships.”
According to ANZ, White’s job as head of wealth, managing wealth technology, operations, and customer resolutions, will remain until he becomes divisional CIO. Until that time, he will also be involved in settlement of ANZ’s former life insurance, superannuation, and third-party advising operations to Zurich and IOOF.
White spent almost four years as COO for technology and operations for ANZ Wealth Australia before becoming head of wealth, then two years as general manager for technology and CIO for global wealth.
Before joining ANZ, White spent over ten years at HSBC in various roles, most notably as director and head of innovation and global program manager. From 2000 until 2004, he was the senior analyst programmer for the Bank of Bermuda New York’s Scotland offices, where he created and executed many supervisor programs.
