Nine, the media group, has named Garry Bentlin as its new Group Director of Cybersecurity. Bentlin, previously the Cybersecurity and Digital Trust Partner at PwC Australia, is set to assume the role on October 11, 2023. He takes over from Celeste Lowe, who departed Nine in August and now serves as the General Manager of Cybersecurity at Ventia, an infrastructure services firm.
Responsiblities
In his new role, Bentlin will lead the ongoing development, implementation, and integration of Nine’s cybersecurity strategy and roadmap. His mission will involve enhancing digital resilience, strengthening capabilities, supporting staff, and safeguarding digital assets for the organization.
Nine praised Bentlin’s expertise in developing enterprise cybersecurity visions and executing programs to protect an organization’s data, personnel, and systems. His experience and proven track record in the cybersecurity field are expected to benefit Nine in its efforts to bolster its cybersecurity defenses.
Before joining PwC Australia, Bentlin served as the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) at TransGrid. His career also includes stints at Deloitte and IBM, where he gained valuable experience in the cybersecurity domain.
