Super Retail Group Unveils Automated Distribution Centre and Strong Customer Engagement Focus

Super Retail Group has announced plans to establish a new automated distribution centre (DC) in Truganina, Victoria, as part of its strategy to enhance supply chain efficiency and customer experience. The 65,000 square metre facility will replace two older distribution centres and is set to achieve a five-star green sustainability rating. The construction, expected to commence in the first half of FY24 and conclude by the first half of FY26, will be funded through the group’s operating cash flows.

The new DC aligns with Super Retail Group’s strategy of focusing on growth for its core brands, streamlining operations, and excelling in retail. The company also continues to invest in customer engagement through loyalty programs and personalization initiatives. It reported strong growth in its active club members, with a significant contribution to group sales.

Rebel, the sporting goods store under the Super Retail Group umbrella, is preparing to relaunch its loyalty program and is set to introduce in-store and online campaigns. The company reported growth in its membership base and online sales, with Click & Collect playing a prominent role.

Supercheap Auto, another brand within the group, witnessed a notable proportion of online sales, primarily through Click & Collect, while Boating, Camping, Fishing (BCF) and Macpac also reported positive sales growth.

Overall, Super Retail Group recorded total group sales of $3.8 billion, representing a seven percent increase from the prior year, with a focus on enhancing its digital and omnichannel capabilities.
