Roblox Chief Business Officer Craig Donato is set to leave the gaming and metaverse company, Roblox (RBLX.N), at the end of the summer, according to an announcement made by the company to Reuters on Friday.
Having served at Roblox for nearly seven years, Donato’s departure marks a significant change for the company. Roblox, known for its metaverse platform where users can play and engage in virtual transactions, boasts a massive user base of 66 million daily users and is accessible across mobile devices, desktops, and Microsoft’s (MSFT.O) Xbox. The platform is particularly popular among children worldwide.
In response to Donato’s impending departure, Roblox has appointed Christina Wootton as the Chief Partnerships Officer. Wootton, who has been with the company since 2014, has previously collaborated with renowned brands and corporations such as Gucci, Nike, Netflix, and Disney to establish a presence within the Roblox metaverse.
In a statement, Wootton expressed her belief that all brands will eventually find their place on Roblox, highlighting the platform’s vast potential for collaboration and growth.
Additionally, Roblox has announced the appointment of Arvind KC as the Chief People and Systems Officer. In this newly created role, KC will assume responsibility for the recruiting division of the human resources department, which previously reported to Donato.
With these changes, Roblox continues to evolve and expand its operations, solidifying its position as a leading player in the gaming and metaverse industry.
