KPMG to Invest $2 Billion in AI and Cloud Services in Microsoft Partnership

KPMG has announced its plans to invest $2 billion ($2.98 billion) in artificial intelligence (AI) and cloud services through an expanded partnership with Microsoft. This strategic move follows Accenture’s similar investment, as both firms recognize the importance of leveraging cutting-edge technologies to navigate a slowdown in advisory deals.

Under the five-year partnership, KPMG will integrate AI technology into its core audit, tax, and advisory services for its clients. By incorporating AI capabilities, the firm aims to enhance its service offerings and provide more efficient and insightful solutions to its clientele.

Professional services firms, including KPMG, are currently experiencing a decline in business due to customers downsizing and delaying consulting and transformation projects in an effort to reduce costs amidst a challenging macroeconomic environment. By investing in AI and cloud services, KPMG seeks to bolster its capabilities and remain resilient during this period of slowdown.

This expanded partnership with Microsoft will not only benefit KPMG but also support the firm’s clients and the 2,500 customers served jointly by KPMG and Microsoft. The collaboration will enable KPMG to leverage Microsoft’s expertise and technologies to deliver innovative solutions and address the evolving needs of their shared customer base.

With this substantial investment and strategic collaboration, KPMG aims to strengthen its position in the market and continue providing high-quality services to its clients, leveraging the power of AI and cloud services in a rapidly evolving business landscape.
