While he oversees many aspects of the agency, including design and photography, Nontouch’s biggest interest lies in creating unique and memorable brands for his clients.

He believes that every business, no matter the size, has the potential to build a strong, unique, and recognisable brand and that it’s not just reserved for the big players.

Here we sit down with Nontouch, to know a bit more about his journey as a digital marketer.

Q. Tell us a little more about your journey as an entrepreneur – how did you get started? What inspired you?

Nontouch: Nontouch’s marketing career started as an in-house digital marketing specialist. After two years of the corporate world, he wanted to create something where he could fully express his creativity and skillset.

That’s when Nontouch, together with his partner, launched Fox Junkie (and subsequently Brissy Eater & SC Eater), which has worked with over 100 restaurant brands across Australia.

He has most recently created The Nontouch as a personal brand on social media to focus on smaller-scale businesses that prefer a more down-to-earth touch and do not necessarily want to approach a large agency for their marketing needs.

Q. What’s one thing in your routine that you do consistently that has made a huge difference in your personal or business life?

Nontouch: Cycling. It’s an activity where I get to be away from the screen and just ride on my own and let the inspiration flow.

Q. Who are your mentors and inspiration? and what knowledge or insight did they give to you that was valuable?

Nontouch: Dain Walker and Chris Do. They’re both marketing and branding storytellers that create amazing work, backed by industry knowledge, consumer trends, and psychology research.

Q. What has been your most satisfying moment in business?

Nontouch: Seeing our clients’ brands being successful, knowing that what we did made a huge difference for their business.

Q. How do you market your business, and which tactics have been most successful?

Nontouch: Hyper-targeted Social Media Advertising that is not sales-y or pushy.

Q. What have been your biggest failures or challenges?

Nontouch: All challenges come and go, but one challenge that pops to mind is spending too much attention on competitors and losing your own identity, direction, and focus on your own client-based.

Another big challenge of a digital business is recruiting super talented staff to join the team as every single team member makes a big difference in a creative agency.

Q. How did this failure, or apparent failure, set you up for later success?

Nontouch: Always focus on your own identity and customers first and foremost, as that will set you apart and improve your services.
