Apple has released a low-cost iPhone SE with 5G connectivity

Apple has added 5G connection to its low-cost iPhone SE and iPad Air, as well as a high-performance CPU for its new Mac Studio, a desktop designed for creative professionals.

Apple increased the price of the iPhone SE from A$679 to A$719 for the previous generation. The new phone will be available for purchase on March 18, with orders taken beginning on March 12.

The iPhone SE includes an A15 Bionic chip, which Apple claims is the fastest in the industry, a 4.7-inch retina display, and a home button with touch ID.

“This is crucial for our existing consumers who desire a smaller iPhone at a fantastic price,” remarked CEO Tim Cook.

Apple unveiled the M1 Ultra, a new CPU designed to improve the performance of Mac desktop computers. The M1 Ultra is created by joining two M1 Max chips and is eight times quicker than M1 chips.

In eight nations, the weekly double header will be offered.

As customers seek more powerful smartphones with greater connection, Apple has prioritised 5G capabilities for the upper end of its flagship product, with the iPhone 13 displaying unique 5G antennas and radio components for quicker speeds.

Now, Apple’s less expensive SE model is getting a 5G update, which may persuade price-conscious customers to upgrade to new phones. Although 5G connectivity is patchy in many parts of the world, the capability provides customers with some “future-proof” protection for when the service improves.

“Because iPhone customers keep their phones for more than 2.5 years, incorporating 5G capabilities would be an appealing feature for users to upgrade their older 4G iPhone,” said one analyst.

According to IDC, the top markets for iPhone SE sales in recent years have been the United States, Japan, and Western Europe.
