Virgin Australia’s AI-powered transformation

Virgin Australia is making changes to the way it sells extra services to passengers by using new technology from Sabre. Which is a company that helps airlines with booking and other services. They’re sending personalized offers, like seat upgrades or extra luggage options, to passengers before their flights. These offers use artificial intelligence (AI) to determine what each tourist is most likely to buy.

This is part of a larger initiative by Virgin Australia to strengthen its revenue streams through stronger retail techniques. They are employing SabreMosaic, a technology that allows them to personalize rates and offers based on real-time market data.

Frequent flyers may have noticed these emailed offers, which are enabled by Sabre’s AI-augmented modular platform.Virgin Australia, SabreMosaic’s “flagship customer,” has announced a multi-year investment to revamp its retail approach.

This phased integration combines traditional Sabre technologies, which Virgin Australia has long used, with newer innovations running on Google Cloud.

As part of an extended agreement, Virgin Australia will continue to rely on SabreSonic PSS and related systems as it transitions towards an offer and order-based environment. According to CIO David Hogarth, SabreMosaic will gradually enhance guest experiences, optimize offerings, and provide a competitive market advantage.
