Australia Taxation Office is looking to fill 350 roles

The Australia Taxation Office (ATO) has launched a nationwide recruitment drive, offering starting salaries of $70,280 to university graduates.

Applications for the ATO’s 2025 Graduate Program are currently open, with more than 350 positions available across 20 locations spanning nearly every state and territory, including regional areas.

While the ATO expresses a particular interest in hiring graduates from accounting, law, finance, or commerce backgrounds, opportunities also exist in fields such as data, design, human resources, information technology, and marketing and communications.

ATO acting assistant commissioner Celeste Breen highlighted the organization’s commitment to providing diverse career pathways, citing job rotations as a key feature of the program. This allows successful candidates to explore various career possibilities within the ATO.

Successful candidates will receive a starting salary of $70,280, plus 15.4 per cent superannuation. Upon completion of the 12-month program, employees have the opportunity to secure a permanent position with a pay rise to $78,290, plus superannuation. APS4 officers within the ATO can earn up to $84,972, plus superannuation.

The program is open to graduates who completed their university degree within the past five years or are in their final year of study. Interested candidates can find more information and apply on the ATO website before the April 11 deadline.
