Yanmar to Invest R$ 280 Million in New Factory in Brazil

Yanmar has announced it will invest R$280 million to build a new factory in Indaiatuba, São Paulo state. The project will be completed in phases by 2030 and aims to expand production, modernize operations, and meet growing demand in Brazil.

The new facility will cover 140,000 square meters, three times larger than Yanmar’s current factories in the region. In its first phase, scheduled to begin operations in 2027, the plant will produce 7,000 tractors annually, an increase from the current 5,000. The expansion is also expected to generate around 100 jobs by 2029.

According to Yanmar, the site will feature automated assembly lines, advanced safety systems, and sustainability measures such as solar power, natural lighting, and smart energy controls. The factory will also integrate administrative and executive offices to streamline operations under the Yanmar Production System, a model based on the company’s Japanese manufacturing practices.

“This new factory is essential for meeting market demand and advancing our growth in Brazil,” said Wagner Santaniello, Innovation and Marketing Manager at Yanmar South America. He added that the company hopes to raise its tractor market share from 10% to 12% while strengthening its position in other equipment segments.

Yanmar has operated in Brazil for more than 65 years and employs over 300 people at its Indaiatuba site.
