Worldpay by FIS Joins eftpos, Expands Payment Capabilities in Australia

Worldpay by FIS, a leading payment solutions provider, has partnered with eftpos, Australia’s payment system, to enhance its offerings in the Australian market. The agreement allows Worldpay from FIS to process eftpos payments, providing its customers with access to eftpos’ online payment capabilities.

As a member of eftpos, Worldpay from FIS gains the advantage of least-cost routing (LCR) options for transactions. This new integration enables merchants and businesses to offer consumers an additional payment option, further expanding their customer base.

With this collaboration, Worldpay customers can leverage eftpos’ robust infrastructure, directly accessing Australia’s domestic debit network. This move is expected to bolster the company’s position in the Australian market, as eftpos processes over 2 billion transactions annually.

Lynn Kraus, CEO of AP+ (Australian Payments Plus), the entity combining eftpos, BPAY, and NPPA, expressed excitement about the partnership. Kraus highlighted the benefits for Worldpay customers, who can now tap into eftpos’ infrastructure and contribute to the growing number of transactions conducted through eftpos each year.

In recent news, the Financial Times reported that FIS, the parent company of Worldpay, is considering a potential majority stake sale in Worldpay, estimated at a value of $15 billion.
