DeepSouth, expected to be operational by April 2024, boasts an impressive pedigree. Its unique hardware emulates complex neural networks. The computer firing a staggering 228 trillion synaptic operations per second. This speed, akin to the human brain’s estimated capacity, will unlock doors to brain simulations.

“Our understanding of how brains compute is stifled by limitations in simulating large-scale brain networks,” explains Professor André van Schaik, Director of ICNS. “DeepSouth changes the game. Forget slow, power-hungry simulations on traditional computers. This is faster, more efficient, and holds the key to unlocking brain secrets.”
