Volkswagen denied Acer’s accusations that it infringed on its mobile network patents after a magazine claimed that the Taiwanese computer giant had sued the German vehicle.
Earlier on Tuesday, the German weekly WirtschaftsWoche reported that Acer had filed a lawsuit in the US state of Virginia, stating that Volkswagen had only paid for licenses for 2G and 3G patents but had predominantly installed mobile phone processors with 4G technology in the previous two years.
“We will investigate the suit with our suppliers and then determine how to proceed,” Volkswagen said
“At first examination, we have indicators that the charges and accusations made in it are baseless,” it continued, failing to disclose any specifics.
