VMware has announced the availability of its VMware Cloud on AWS service from the AWS Melbourne infrastructure region. This service was already available from the AWS infrastructure in Sydney, and now customers in Melbourne can also run VMware vSphere-based workloads in consistent hybrid cloud environments with optimized access to native AWS services.
The expansion to Melbourne is expected to drive growth by providing customers with more options to run workloads with increased resilience and availability. It will also allow them to securely store data in Australia and benefit from lower latency.
One of the Australian users of VMware Cloud on AWS is MLC Life Insurance, demonstrating the adoption of this service by businesses in the region.
