On Sunday- Australia won its first T20 World Cup Title beating its opponent New Zealand in the final match by eight wickets. The match was held at Dubai International Stadium. New Zealand set a target of 173 which was chased by Captain Kane William, David Warner, and Mitchel March playing very comfortably.
At Dubai Stadium, Australia won the toss and chose to bowl against New Zealand. New Zealand in the first half managed to score 172 by losing 4 wickets from 20 overs. From Australia, Mitchel Marsh and David Warner made half-centuries. Previously, Australia had defeated Pakistan in the semi-final match.
Team Experience in T20 World Cup
Talking about the experience Marsh the man-of-the-match award said,
‘’I don’t have words right now, what an amazing six weeks with this group of men. I love em’ to death… and World Champs.’’
Marcus Stoinis said, ‘’ I can’t wait to keep playing with this team… you won’t find bigger supporters of Mitch Marsh than right here apart from probably his family. We are so happy for him.’’
Marsh played brilliantly but also Warner did a great job of setting up Australia’s run chase. He was later name player of the tournament.
Williamson praises the Australian team and paid tribute to their performance. He said, ‘’ It was nice to get what we thought was a competitive total only to be chased by Australia, they are brilliant side and came out here tonight and turned it on.’’
Indeed, it was a great journey for the Australian Cricket team, and they celebrated the victory at Dubai Cricket stadium.
