Mark Faust Sr. is a celebrated growth and turnaround consultant, syndicated writer, professional speaker and advisor to CEOs and business owners. In this interview, Mark shares his journey of uncovering billions in revenue for his clients, his books High Growth Levers and Growth or Bust! Proven Turnaround Strategies to Grow Your Business, and the secrets to success.
Q: How did you get started in the growth and turnaround consulting business?
Mark: During college I set up my business, Echelon Management so that I could make a sales call on a man I wanted to be my mentor, I sold him a consulting contract for several thousand dollars (1988, I was 21) and he bought, and then he convinced me to come to work for him a few years and promise to help network me back into the growth consulting business.
Q: What have been some of the most successful strategies you used in helping your clients achieve growth?
Mark: The findings from my interviews and consulting work have contributed greatly to the Echelon growth strategy process. These strategies include partnering with upstart businesses and getting equity stake for being an advisor, writing several books, and giving back to the poorest of communities. I also believe strongly in the power of Master Mind groups and the importance of having great mentors.
Q: What advice would you give to an aspiring business leader?
Mark: My advice to aspiring business leaders is to search out the greatest sources of wisdom and get great mentors that will help you reach your goals. The King’s Speech is a great example of being an unworthy advisor who makes a difference that changes the world.
Q: Where can readers connect with you?
