The chief digital, data, and analytics officer of NAB will resign

Angela Mentis, NAB’s Group Chief Digital, Data, and Analytics Officer, is set to retire at the beginning of November. The bank made this announcement in an ASX filing [pdf] and revealed that Les Matheson, the current Group Chief Operating Officer, will assume responsibility for the digital and data portfolios.

NAB’s CEO, Ross McEwan, praised Mentis for her customer-centric approach and outstanding results throughout her career. He expressed understanding and acceptance of her decision to retire from full-time executive roles to spend more time with her family.

Mentis took on the role of Group Chief Digital, Data, and Analytics Officer in October 2021. She has a long history with NAB and its divisions since 2006, as well as experience with other prominent financial institutions like Westpac, BT Financial, Citibank, and Macquarie Bank.

In addition to overseeing the digital, data, and analytics division, Les Matheson will also be responsible for group marketing, product improvement, and governance at NAB’s digital-only bank, ubank. Pending regulatory approvals, Matheson will assume his new role on November 1.
