Tesla nearly 2.2M vehicles for software update to fix warning lights 

Tesla, recalling almost all of the vehicles that are sold in the US because of warning lights. According to sources, the lights on the instrument panel are small. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration announced on Friday that nearly 2.2M vehicles require an update. Meanwhile, they also said that an investigation into Tesla steering problems is also closer to a recall.

The agency posted documents on friday saying that warning light recall will be through online software update. It covers Model S, Model X, Model 3 Model Y and also the 2024 Cybertruck. The agency also highlights the issues of the font size which is very small and not according to Federal safety standards. The font size for brake, park and antilock are quite hard to read. It increases the risk of a crash. 

Tesla started Software Update

The company has already started updating the system. According to the source, owners will get notification for the update from March 30. Tesla has also identified three warranty claims that could potentially be linked to the problem, however, no reports of any injury or crashes. 

There have been several investigations into different parts of the Tesla vehicles in the past. Among them, Autopilot mode has caused trouble and increased risks. However, the company has been trying to update whenever requires.Also, there have been number of consumer complaints about Tesla blocking roadways.
