Telstra Group Limited (ASX: TLS) has named a new CEO for its infrastructure arm, InfraCo. Brendon Riley will step down on 30 September 2025. Steven Worrall, currently Managing Director of Microsoft Australia and New Zealand, will take over from 1 September 2025.
This move shows Telstra’s growing focus on digital infrastructure, cloud services, and AI. Worrall brings strong experience from Microsoft, where he led major tech investments and worked with thousands of partners. Earlier, he spent over 20 years at IBM in leadership roles across the Asia-Pacific region.
Vicki Brady, Telstra’s CEO, believes Worrall is the right person for the role. She said his experience with digital projects and strong leadership skills will help InfraCo grow in the right direction.
Riley has led InfraCo since its beginning. Under his leadership, it became a key part of Telstra’s business, managing its fibre network, data centres, and other assets. After stepping down, he plans to become an advisor and serve on company boards.
This change comes at an important time. Demand for digital services like cloud and AI is rising fast. Telstra wants InfraCo to lead in building the strong and smart networks Australia needs.
Meanwhile, Telstra’s performance in the market remains solid. As of 12 May 2025, its share price stood at A$4.595. Over the past year, the company’s stock grew by more than 25%, beating the broader ASX 200 index. Investors see this as a sign of trust in Telstra’s leadership and its digital future.
