SkyMesh, after acquiring Clear Networks last year, has successfully sold its fixed wireless infrastructure to Summit Internet. The infrastructure deal encompasses 53 transmission sites across various locations, including Melbourne, regional Victoria, regional NSW, Perth, and regional Western Australia.
As part of the agreement, SkyMesh will continue serving its existing customer base that relied on these sites through a long-term wholesale arrangement with Summit Internet. The transaction was finalized on June 30, although the financial details have not been disclosed.
Following the acquisition, Summit Internet’s CEO, Greg Lipschitz, highlighted that their network now extends to over 2.7 million premises, providing high-speed fixed wireless access. Lipschitz expressed intentions to collaborate with the SkyMesh team in expanding their customer base on the Summit fixed wireless network.
In response to the transaction, SkyMesh’s non-executive director, Paul Torrisi, emphasized the benefits for all parties involved, especially the customers utilizing this network. Torrisi stated that the change allows each business to leverage their strengths, ultimately resulting in an improved experience for end users. Additionally, SkyMesh will gain access to Summit’s expanded wireless network through an ongoing wholesale relationship.
