Royal Automobile Association begins CTO hunt

Following Jeanette Dhondee’s retirement, the Royal Automobile Association (RAA) is looking for a new chief technology officer.

A senior manager filled Dhondee’s position at the South Australian car club until the end of 2022 while a search for a replacement was conducted.

“I can’t conceive of a more essential job for RAA right now,” said Nick Reade, CEO of RAA.

The CTO will assist myself and the leadership team in establishing RAA for the following 120 years and achieving our growth objectives, according to Reade.

The RAA wants the CTO to oversee IT operations, infrastructure, digital, and cyber across the locally owned association, which has about 800,000 members throughout the state.

The position will be part of RAA’s executive leadership team and report to Reade. The potential applicant will have the opportunity to drive the development, delivery, and execution of the ICT strategy and roadmap.

After joining from South Australia’s Department for Child Protection, where she served as CIO for just over two years, Dhondee was the company’s CTO for just one year.

Dhondee served as the Department of Treasury and Finance’s CIO from 2016 to 2019. He previously held a comparable position.

Dhondee held numerous managerial positions in the energy business, including those at Santos, APA Group, and ElectraNet, before moving up to C-suite positions.
