REA Group Appoints New Chief Technology Officer

REA Group, the digital advertising company, has appointed Steve Maidment as its new Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to replace Chris Venter, who had taken medical leave after a severe accident last year. Maidment, the senior vice president and chief digital officer of Auto Trader in Canada, will be responsible for overseeing the platforms that underpin REA’s products, services, and operations. Craig Templeton, who has been acting as CTO during Venter’s absence, will return to his previous roles of Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) and General Manager of Technology and Data Platforms. REA Group’s CEO, Owen Wilson, thanked Venter for his time at the company and expressed best wishes for his recovery. Maidment will join REA Group in October and aims to leave his mark on the company. Prior to his role at Auto Trader, Maidment held positions at Australia Post, Phoenix Digital, and Telstra.
