Lyndall Bushell, an experienced fintech leader, has been appointed as the new Chief Information Officer (CIO) of Police Bank. The bank made the official announcement via LinkedIn, expressing their confidence in Bushell’s ability to contribute to technology and change-related roles in the financial services industry. With her expertise in tech delivery, IT operations, and change management, Bushell is expected to drive the development of digital technologies that enhance member and business experiences at Police Bank.
Police Bank’s CEO, Greg McKenna, praised Bushell’s skillset, emphasizing that her leadership style will empower and guide the technology team as the bank undergoes ambitious transformations. The appointment of a CIO, instead of another Chief Technology Officer (CTO), aligns with the bank’s focus on its digital future and core banking change.
As part of the bank’s transformation, it is replacing its core banking system with the Temenos T24 stack, targeting a “go-live” around February or March of the next year. Prior to joining Police Bank, Bushell served as a program manager at the buy now, pay later fintech humm group. She has also held various tech-based roles at the former neobank 86 400 and spent over a decade at Westpac.
In her new role at Police Bank, Bushell expressed her excitement to support the bank’s commitment to its members and contribute to the excellent work done for them. Her appointment is expected to bolster the technology department’s capability in optimizing and refreshing digital banking offerings.
