Opportunities for Australian Screen Creatives: Talent Gateway and Global Producers Exchange Applications Open

Screen Australia and Australians in Film (AiF) are excited to announce the return of two influential programs: Talent Gateway and the Global Producers Exchange. These joint initiatives are geared towards aiding established Australian creatives in enhancing their skills, connecting with prominent US industry figures, and positioning Australian projects for success on the global stage.

CEO Perspective

Graeme Mason, CEO of Screen Australia, shared his thoughts: “As we enter the third year of these highly successful programs, we continue to witness the significant impact they have. Previous participants are already making very confident strides in the competitive global market, refining their skills, and building the scale of their work, and their reputations internationally.”

He further emphasized the role of these flagship initiatives in creating pathways for Australian screen professionals to share unique Australian stories globally, bolstering opportunities for the local industry and showcasing Australia’s unique cultural voice.

Peter Ritchie, Executive Director of Australians in Film (AiF), praised the collaboration with Screen Australia and highlighted how these programs have effectively connected Australian screen professionals with potential US partners, thanks to the support of Graeme Mason and others. He noted that both Talent Gateway and Global Producers Exchange continue to evolve, adapting to the dynamic US market.

What the Programs Offer?

Global Producers Exchange

Focus: Providing leading Australian producers with the skills, knowledge, access, and relationships essential for global success.
Format: Development lab with roundtables, masterclasses, 1:1 mentorships, and more.
Benefits: Up to $60,000 in grants for each of the six selected production companies/producers.
Duration: February 2024 to June 2024.
Objective: Attracting foreign investment and marketplace partnerships for Australian scripted content.
Application Deadline: November 2, 2023, 5 pm AEST.

Talent Gateway

Focus: Supporting Australian screen creatives with recent international success in gaining the skills, knowledge, access, and relationships needed for global success.
Format: Roundtables, masterclasses, introductions to US decision-makers, and individualized 1:1 mentorships.
Benefits: Up to $20,000 in grants for each of the six selected delegates.
Duration: February 2024 to June 2024.
Objective: Developing, refining, and marketing IP, engaging international partners for careers and projects.
Application Deadline: November 2, 2023, 5 pm AEST.
