NBN Co. plans to address energy use with an analytics platform

NBN Co, the company responsible for Australia’s national broadband network, has reportedly engaged a third-party to help it reduce energy consumption and costs. Optima Technology announced in an ASX filing that NBN Co had signed a contract with a global systems integration company to use its Optii platform, a data analytics tool, to identify areas where energy use can be reduced. The five-year project is set to begin in the second half of 2023 and has been in the works for nearly 18 months. NBN Co has previously implemented energy efficiency projects and is obligated to report its total energy consumption.
