NAB reported that more than 500 women from its employee cohort have signed up to participate in its first internal cloud technology certification programme.

AWS’s “She Builds CloudUp” programme, which provides the opportunity to learn cloud skills, is being implemented internally by the bank.

The eight-week course is intended for professionals wishing to re-skill or cross-skill as well as women looking to create a career in technology. It is taught using a community-based learning method.

Digital lessons, weekly online Q&A sessions with AWS Mentors, recorded sessions, and shared resources make up this course.

Despite the fact that 67 percent of women, compared to 74 percent of males, have received digital skill training since the epidemic, research by AlphaBeta for AWS indicated that employees are more driven to learn.

In spite of never having participated in any tech-focused upskilling in the past, it was discovered that 55% of women intended to enrol in digital skill training.

The study also discovered that 81 percent of respondents in non-tech professions who choose to develop their digital skills reported greater employability and 60 percent of respondents in non-tech roles indicated increased promotion chances.

She Builds CloudUp is a fantastic illustration of how we will precisely achieve that, Cammaroto said. “Heading towards 2023, our goal will continue on promoting female participation in technology at every level,” Cammaroto added.
