Here we sit down with Tim, to know a bit more about his journey as an ActiveCampaign Consultant.

Q. What inspired you to become an entrepreneur?

Tim: I launched VYBRNT in 2017 with a vision to drive growth to businesses by leveraging Marketing Automation Technology. I could see an opportunity in the market, that also played into my own passions and interests. The thought of being on the cutting edge of the Digital Marketing Industry, while also helping incredibly impactful businesses was the primary motivation.

Q. How did you get started?

Tim: My business experience is of a diverse background having worked in financial services, investment banking, and high-growth startup companies. But my early years were spent in the ski industry as both an international competitor and coach. No matter what job I had, I always gravitated toward the tech side of the business, in particular Customer Relationship Management. Launching my own consulting agency was a dream I always had.

Q. What was your biggest startup challenge? What steps did you take to overcome it? What did you learn?

Tim: Just getting going. It was more about breaking through any personal fears and doubts, as opposed to operational challenges. The biggest step was simply getting started, and turning an idea into a reality.

Q. What is the Most Memorable Thing You’ve Done Since you Started your Business?

Tim: Helping an array of high-profile property development companies grow and scale their businesses. It’s a key industry for us, and we’ve built some very nuanced strategies to support those businesses. Additionally, we were one of the first companies in the world to build an ActiveCampaign ‘CX’ app, VYBRNT SMS. It’s an SMS plugin for ActiveCampaign, designed for Australian users. It’s been really successful so far, and our clients love the tool.

Q. What is one book you recommend, and why?

Tim: Good to Great by Jim Collins. His emphasis on building a team of great people, and also being a ‘level 5’ leader was something that stuck with me.

Q. What are your top 3 favourite online apps, tools, or resources and what do you love about them?

Tim: Well, ActiveCampaign is certainly #1. There’s no better tool on the market for businesses of all sizes to manage their Sales, Email Marketing, and Marketing Automation. Other than ActiveCampaign, I would have to say QWILR for proposals, and ASANA for project management. There are lots, I love the software!

Q. In terms of legacy, what is the mark you’d like to leave on the world?

Tim: Our vision is clear for our business. Our objective is to be the most trusted
ActiveCampaign consulting agency globally. The ideal choice for any large business that needs migration or implementation support with the ActiveCampaign platform. We are well on our way, having configured the system for over 100 companies, and been specific to the platform for 5 years.

Q. In one sentence, what’s the best advice you’d give to someone just starting out on their entrepreneurial journey?

Tim: Start very niched down. The tendency for an entrepreneur is always to think big. But rather, it’s best to think small in terms of your business strategy. Meaning, focus the attention on helping a very specific group of people with very specific services. Meanwhile, have a “BHAG” in mind for the long game.
