Here we sit down with Maz, to know a bit more about her journey as an entrepreneur.

Q. Tell us a little more about your journey as an entrepreneur – how did you get started? What inspired you?

Maz: I’ve always had that inner knowing that I was meant for more and put on this world to help others, I just didn’t know how. The universe has a funny way of guiding us on our paths and my journey started back in 2015 when I was working a job I struggled to get out of bed for.

I was on the bus heading to work thinking there has to be more. Life can’t only be about waking up every day and going to a job I hate, just to pay bills. I then had a realisation, “I’ve overcome drug addiction, sexual trauma, homelessness, abuse, depression and so much trauma, maybe I can help others get out of the darkness that I once was in!”

I originally started a blog, then a YouTube channel, which led me into the fitness industry and then became a mindset coach. Now I am an author and energy healer, coaching and helping people around the world to heal and transform.

Q. What’s one thing in your routine that you do consistently that has made a huge difference in your personal or business life?

Maz: Meditation.

Strengthening my connection to spirit has amplified my gifts, my belief in myself, and my way of being.

Q. Who are your mentors and inspiration? and what knowledge or insight did they give to you that was valuable?

Maz: Tony Robbins played a massive role in starting my personal development journey triggering me to look at myself and make some serious changes. This then led me to find my spirituality and learn more about the Law of Attraction.

Abraham Hicks, Gabrielle Bernstein, Wayne Dyer, and Oprah have been incredible inspirations but the game really changed when I invested into my first mentor Shannon Kaiser and wrote my first book.

Shannon also helped me through one of my most profound spiritual awakenings when my gifts started to come through. I felt so alone and confused at the time, she really was divinely sent to me.

Q. What has been your most satisfying moment in business?

Maz: There has been many, but the first that comes to mind is my very first Manifest and Breathe event. It was my biggest event at the time. I was standing on the mic telling everyone how blessed I was that my best friend was in the crowd and everything I had told her I was going to manifest several years ago was now my reality.

Now there I was teaching others how to manifest, helping others heal. I was experiencing everything that was once on my vision board and it was a very special moment to share that with her there.

Q. How do you market your business, and which tactics have been most successful?

Maz: I would have to say that the power of social media has been a gift. Being able to share my voice and reach people all over the world was something that wasn’t so easy in the past.

I find I get a lot of referrals and people seem to randomly find me on Instagram. I would have to say I wouldn’t be where I am without social media. I also use the Law of Attraction to attract clients to me. Since combining the power of manifestation, mindset and mastering my own energy, everything has taken off.

And yes, of course, investing in myself. I remember investing $55k in less than a year to go all in on my business and my own growth. That caused a massive ripple effect.

Q. What have been your biggest failures or challenges?

Maz: I have experienced rock bottom several times. I remember being 14 sleeping on a park bench crying, and then a voice said to me, “You are going through this because you are strong enough to overcome this. One day you will be helping so many people around the world. You got this.” I didn’t believe in God or a higher power back then. I didn’t even know what spirituality was. But that voice saved me.

There have been many tears and sleepless nights when I didn’t want to live anymore. I’ve experienced some really horrible breakups, depression, and heavy trauma. But looking back, I can’t say that anything was a failure.

Everything and everyone that tried to break me has shaped me to be the strongest woman I know. The challenges all helped me to be who I am today and in turn, help others in the way I do now.

Q. How did this failure, or apparent failure, set you up for later success?

Maz: All of the pain and suffering have strengthened me. Hence why my business is called Phoenix Rising Collective Tribe. I am an alchemist. I have mastered how to turn pain into power because I have seen the darkness time and time again.

I have learnt how to feel, heal, process and release quickly. I guess that’s why I am able to help people come out of the darkness and help my clients get the amazing results they experience with me. In my eyes, no education or degree can beat life experience.

Q. If someone was to create a TV show about you, what would it be about and what would it be called?

Maz: I joke about this all the time. My life is a movie. I can’t even believe I lived and survived all of it. I’ve played so many roles and been to so many characters. I wouldn’t even know what to call it as it would need to be a sequel with many different titles.

Maybe it should be called… Try Me.To keep up to date with Maz and her journey, connect with her on Facebook, and Instagram.
