Here we sit down with Dr. Brett, to know a bit more about his journey as an entrepreneur.

Q. What inspired you to become an entrepreneur?

Dr. Brett: I struggled with depression and lack of self-worth for almost all of my adult life, which was due to unresolved childhood trauma.

Once I was able to deal with my past, find answers, processes and skills and tools to live life in a much more positive way, I became obsessed with finding out more.

At one point I remember thinking, “No Man (or person), should ever have to live with the pain did.” At that moment, I decided to make a difference in this world by helping as many Men as I could live their best life!

Q. How did you get started?

Dr. Brett: Firstly, I found my purpose and passion…helping as many Men as I could live their best life.

Once you find that, everything else just starts to flow. People and mentors come into your life that you need them.

I started just mentoring men, just talking to them, and it morphed into workshops and online programs.

Q. What was your biggest startup challenge? What steps did you take to overcome it? What did you learn?

Dr. Brett: My biggest challenge was believing I was capable of doing it.

I had (and still have) coaches & mentors to work through what are the blocks and how to overcome them…whether they are internal or external blocks.

What did I learn??? They are almost ALWAYS internal blocks…and anything is possible, though it may take time, self-belief and hard work.

Q. What is the Most Memorable Thing You’ve Done Since you Started your Business?

Dr. Brett: Built a brotherhood of Men who respect each other’s differences, are there to support and guide each other when needed and have formed strong bonds through love and respect.

Q. What is one book you recommend, and why?

Dr. Brett: “The Compound Effect”, by Darren Hardy.

We live in a fast flowing and fast-changing world and we want the positive change to happen now.

When it comes to anything, from self-improvement to business, it just doesn’t happen immediately. It takes time, consistency and persistence…and this book explains it beautifully.

Q. What are your top 3 favourite online apps, tools, or resources and what do you love about them?

Dr. Brett: In no particular order…

  • Canva – I love being creative and making interesting posts and this is the perfect platform.
  • Camtasia – again, I love being a little creative and being able to edit my own videos is pretty cool.
  • Vivino – I enjoy a wine, and this app has nearly every wine on the planet, rates them and gives an average price, so I know what I am in for.

Q. In terms of legacy, what is the mark you’d like to leave on the world?

Dr. Brett: To change one Man’s life for the better, so he can become more connected, empowered and just be “himself”.

By doing that, we will help to change not only his life, but we will also help change his family’s life and the community in which he lives.

If we do that often enough, and each of those Men leads and they help change one Man’s life…then we can change the world!

Q. In one sentence, what’s the best advice you’d give to someone just starting out on their entrepreneurial journey?

Dr. Brett: Believe in yourself, what you are doing and trying to achieve!
