Female Australian basketball athlete Liz Cambage who has shown her spectacular merit in the last has now withdrawn from the Australian Basketball Olympic team for Tokyo 2020.
Liz has cited concerns about personal mental health and she fears of getting into a “bubble”.

Cambage plays for the Las Vegas Aces at club level has mentioned the fact that family, friends and fans would not be in Tokyo to support her was shocking and terrifying for her.
The 29-year-old Liz is also a four-time WNBA All-Star, which speaks about her Basketball success so far. She clearly said that she wanted to take care of herself “mentally and physically”.
“At the moment I am far from where I want to go,” she said.
What Did She Say?
“It’s no secret that in the past I’ve struggled with my mental health and recently I’ve been really worried about heading into a ‘bubble’ Olympics. No family. No friends. No fans. No support system outside of my team. It’s honestly terrifying for me.
“For the past month, I have been extremely nervous and sleep deprived.
“Relying on daily medication to control my anxiety is not the place I want to be right now – especially to compete on the world’s largest stage.”
Why The Withdrawal?
Cambage’s withdrawal comes after reports that the sports star got herself involved physically and verbally in a warm-up match they held against Nigeria in Las Vegas.
For your information, the Australian Basketball team is holding a pre-Olympic training camp in Las Vegas.
The ESPN report says that Liz Cambage was involved in a physical dispute and a “verbal exchange”.
Previous Incidents
Cambage, who won the London 2012 Olympic bronze medal, had previously threatened to boycott the Games due to a lack of racial diversity in Australian Olympic photoshoots.
Liz Cambage has previously accused the Australian Olympic committee of “white washing”. However, Liz later decided to enter her third Games.
