Naresh Teckchandani, the head of IT for Kmart Australia’s retail locations, has departed to become the IT general manager of women’s apparel retailer Forever New.
Teckchandani announced his retirement from Kmart on LinkedIn, noting that he is “definitely departing on a good note, from beginning my career as a developer to leading fantastic people.”
“The day has come… to conclude my 24 years of an incredible adventure with Kmart and the Group, working for some of the finest firms in Australia, including Coles, Myer, Officeworks, and the Kmart Group,” Teckchandani said. “It is really difficult to chose to leave a wonderful job at a fantastic organisation for which you have enjoyed working and making a difference with the best teams I’ve had the honour of leading.”
“I’m thrilled to report that, beginning in the new year, I’ll be taking on a new position as Forever New’s GM IT.”
Teckchandani indicated that he would be “taking a break” before beginning his new position. “Thank you, Kmart, especially the shops and online personnel, for all your help,” he added. “I’m lucky to have been a part of Kmart’s recovery, and it’s been a terrific opportunity to work and learn.”
Kmart Australia and Forever New representatives could not be reached for comment. Teckchandani worked with Kmart for 13 years, beginning as an IT delivery manager for retail systems in 2008.
He maintained this position for a little over nine years before moving on to become Kmart’s IT customer delivery manager, where he worked across the brand’s e-commerce, retail, marketing, and corporate affairs. Teckchandani, after that, advanced to the position of IT customer delivery manager.
