Kim Kent: Breaking Generational Money Mindset Blocks One Woman at a Time

Kim Kent is your “go-to” Money Mindset and Financial Coach and the creator of the Wealthy As F*ck money coaching program, which is evolving into the fastest-growing money coaching brand for women across Australia.

Kim is helping ambitious women break through their money mindset blocks, get out of debt, stop spending more than they are earning, and create their path to financial freedom, so they STOP feeling like they are not enough.

Her passion for helping women break the generational “hand me downs” of the lack mentality is potent and is changing the lives of women daily. This passion stemmed from her life experience of constant money stress, never having enough, and hitting big business success at the cost of burnout and exhaustion. After investing in herself, doing the inner work, and learning and implementing the wealth creation strategies, she has broken the chains of her family’s scarcity mentality and now helps other women just live her break-through income glass ceilings and heal their relationship with money.

The Wealthy As F*ck Signature Money Blueprint is the key to how Kim changes lives, it is based on the Universal Laws of money and perfectly balances the masculine and feminine energies of nature.

With over 10 years as an entrepreneur, Kim has built multiple successful online businesses, scaling up to 7 figures in revenue along the way, and in 2020, Kim was in Yahoo Finances’ top 6 Mindset and Business Coaches.

Here we sit down with Kim, to know a bit more about her journey as an entrepreneur.

Q. What inspired you to become an entrepreneur?

Kim: Looking back on my childhood, I always was entrepreneurial. I was always looking for ways to make money, get creative, and try new things. I remember I used to hustle my parents for money by cleaning up the leaves in the backyard. So I always had the motivation to hustle, but the inspiration as I became an adult was because I never wanted to be caught up in the “rat race”. I saw my parents settle for stable employment and their lives revolved around their work schedule. I wanted a life of freedom and earning money on my own terms, so I started my first business at 19 years old.

Q. How did you get started?

Kim: As mentioned previously, I feel I always had that drive to work for myself, but when I took it seriously was after finishing my University degree and there were very limited jobs actually available in my profession, so I had to make a decision and I decided I would work for myself, I started in the online space and never looked back.

Q. What was your biggest startup challenge? What steps did you take to overcome it? What did you learn?

Kim: My self-doubt. Deep down I used to believe I wasn’t good enough and no matter what I did, or what I achieved, I had to do better and it wasn’t enough. With no actual sales experience, I really struggled with the constructive criticism that came with networking and marketing myself and my product. I just wanted all the success with how I was doing business, even though I was throwing spaghetti at the wall.

I was introduced to the world of personal development and I started learning all about mindset and my own self-sabotage. I learnt that I needed to invest in myself, learn the steps and strategies that actually work to build a business, and learn from people who have succeeded before me.

Q. What is the most memorable thing you’ve done since you started your business?

Kim: There are many memorable things. including speaking on stage in front of 8000 in Anaheim, California, sharing my story of how I built a 7 figure MLM business from the ground up. Another highlight was packing my bags and moving to Canada to live for 6 months with my husband, and it was all because I could work my business online. With all the amazing travel opportunities I have had, and as cliche as this sounds, all the lives I have been able to help and impact with my product and service, My most memorable feels like my most proud moment. This was just in 2023, I was 1 year into being a new mum and I launched my money course, Wealthy As F*ck. It took having a baby for me to get crystal clear on the legacy I want to create. I built a multi-6 figure coaching business in 12 months, without any childcare, as a full time ‘stay at home mum’. All with the most motivation and desire to change the lives of other women who have struggled financially like me, so they can break the generational ‘hand me downs’ of money struggle and stress and rewrite their legacy too.

Q. What is one book you recommend, and why?

Kim: The Breakthrough Experience, by Dr John Demartini. This was the first personal development book I read and it completely shifted my perspective on everything in life and pulled me out of being a victim of my circumstances. This massively helped with building my business, and it also transformed the relationships I had in my life.

Q. What are your top 3 favourite online apps, tools or resources and what do you love about them?

1. I love Instagram! Yes, it is social media, and it is a great way to build an audience, connect with my community, add value, and grow my business.

  1. Chatgpt. We are in a world where it is smart to stay up to date with the advances of technology and I love using Chatgpt to help me with writing and copy. I always struggled with literacy and grammar at school, it just was never “my jam” (give me a microphone and let me speak!) so this tool really helps articulate my message grammatically correct. There are so many other ways and reasons to use AI but this is my favourite.
  2. Canva. This is my design playground. I have so much fun here creating content and it is so easy to use. People always ask If I have an assistant making my content and nope it is all me thanks to this app.

Q. In terms of legacy, what is the mark you’d like to leave on the world?

Kim: Helping women break the generation “hand me downs” of scarcity mentality, so our future generations never have to worry about money. It starts with us now, we get to rewrite the beliefs, stories, and behaviours with money, so our children and our children’s children always feel good enough and have a healthy and abundant relationship with money.

Q. In one sentence, what’s the best advice you’d give to someone just starting out on their entrepreneurial journey?

Kim: The key to success is to have a vision bigger than your BS. Success is simple, it is all the “BS” we tell ourselves or we let get in the way that makes the journey seem hard. So get really clear on all the “stuff” getting in the way of you getting sh*t done and achieve your goals. This consists of all your thoughts and dialogue running in your mind, reactive emotions to circumstances or people, the behaviours and habits you know demotivate you, and so on. When you are clear on what is in the way, then go to work on cleaning that up. Whether you do it yourself or you get a coach to help, when you clean this up you create the energetic capacity to receive more; more opportunities, clearer headspace, the energy and motivation, more money, etc.
