Australia’s Federal Treasurer Jim Chalmers is making his way to Gandhinagar, India this Sunday to represent the nation at the G20 Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors meetings.
With much of the world grappling with issues such as high inflation and low global growth, these meetings are of utmost importance to ensure the economy of this nation is well-managed and that its citizens can enter into a new era of prosperity.
At such a pivotal time in the global economy, Dr Chalmers is eager to sit with his colleagues and to look for solutions to get through these turbulent times. He has stated that this is the perfect opportunity to pool ideas together and to create a plan of action that will benefit nations across the world.
Dr Chalmers will be looking to push for concerted action on the part of G20 nations to promote economic recovery.
“At this meeting, we will gain new insight into global economic hurdles to better prepare us for managing any possible future uncertainties. Fortunately, Australia is presently better off than a lot of other countries given our record of having the highest labor force participation rate and our wages continuing to rise. As a result, we are able to adjust our budget and economic plan accordingly,” he said.
