Rainer Rhedey, Australia’s top digital officer, has joined Isentia as its new chief technology officer.
Rhedey had been CDO of Aussie, the mortgage broker and lender, for a year and a half, although he had previously worked as a technology executive for Seven West Media and Fairfax.
He takes over for Paul Russell, who left Isentia last month to become CTO of the eBay Classifieds Group, which includes Gumtree, CarsGuide, and Autotrader.
According to Isentia CEO Ed Harrison, Rhedey would “play a major part in a number of critical projects emerging from [Isentia’s] recent purchase by Access Intelligence.”
Access Intelligence, located in the United Kingdom, purchased the company in September of last year.
Rhedey managed a digital overhaul of the loan process at Aussie and was in charge of all day-to-day technological operations. Aussie has approximately 1000 brokers and 220 retail locations.
According to an Aussie spokeswoman, the CDO post will not be replaced, and Rhedey’s previous tasks will now be handled by the platform technology group of Lendi, which Aussie merged with in May last year.
CBA used to hold Aussie, but now owns 45 percent of the merged Aussie-Lendi firm.
Mark Kalajzich, divisional chief executive officer, and Martin Lam, chief innovation officer, lead Lendi’s platform technology division.
