Hackers leaked internal documents stolen from Leidos Holdings, one of the largest providers of IT services to governments, Bloomberg News quoted a source familiar with the matter as saying.

Leidos recently discovered the issue and believed the documents were obtained after a previously reported breach of the Diligent system, the report said. The agency is currently investigating the matter.

Virginia-based Leidos serves the US. Department of Defense as a major customer. The compromised Diligent program captured data from national surveys, according to the June 2023 document.

Leidos confirmed that the breach was related to a previous incident involving a third-party vendor, for which all required reporting was done in 2023.

“This incident had no material impact on our website or customer information,” the company said.

A spokesperson for Diligent explained that the issue appeared to relate to an incident that affected its team Steel Compliance Solutions in 2022. The company notified the affected customers and implemented a corrective action to address the issue in November 2022.
