Richard Burke left Agribusiness GrainCorp, thus the company is searching for a new CISO.
The head of information and cyber security, or CISO, will report to CIO Risto Dukovski, per the company’s LinkedIn advertisement.
According to the corporation, the CISO will oversee a group responsible for enhancing and preserving “the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information systems and technology across GrainCorp.”
In addition to directing a team that provides security responses, security operations, application security, awareness, and governance, responsibilities will include the governance of the information security management system and the NIST cybersecurity framework.

“Agribusiness has the reputation of being pretty conventional,” he added, but in order to be a successful commodities trader, GrainCorp needs to have a clear picture of its supply chain, which must be secured as digitalisation develops.
The business must “not just keep pace but be ahead of” market security expectations.
But Hegarty noted that recruiting is also part of the job’s remit.
Revenues for the grain and seed handler and processor in 2020–2021 were close to $5.5 billion.
In order to prevent grain merchants from being left out of pocket during exchanges, it has been narrowing its focus on technology and in 2019 added a payments engine to its CropConnect online platform.
Burke departed GrainCorp this month after three years to take the CISO position at poultry company Inghams.
Prior to joining GrainCorp, Burke worked for Ricoh Australia, Sony, Micros Systems, and Macquarie University in a variety of IT and security positions.
