ANZ Institutional has integrated generative AI technology into a business intelligence tool used by frontline bankers to keep up with market developments.
This tool, called Signals, is already in use to provide near-real-time business intelligence to customers. It serves as a notification system, alerting bankers when existing customer deals are approaching expiration. This proactive approach enables ANZ to offer customized alternatives to customers in advance. Tim Moloney, Head of Financial Institutions Sales Australia, explained that Signals is also used to inform bankers about available liquidity in less liquid markets, prompting them to reach out to interested customers.
To enhance its capabilities, ANZ has now incorporated generative AI into Signals. This AI feature scans tens of thousands of news articles daily and summarizes relevant customer news. This enhancement allows ANZ to stay better informed and assist customers in managing their market risk more effectively.
In addition to this development, ANZ previously announced the creation of its own generative AI-powered chatbot and a private instance of generative AI technology called Z-GPT. Z-GPT leverages OpenAI models via Microsoft and incorporates certain AI tools from Google, although the specific tools were not disclosed.
