Chinese automaker Geely Holding Group has introduced a new premium intelligent technology brand called JI YUE, a result of its collaboration with Baidu Inc in the field of “automotive robotics.” The brand’s inaugural model, JI YUE 01, is set to be manufactured by Geely and is scheduled for debut in the final quarter of this year.
Under this partnership, Baidu will contribute its expertise in smart cockpits, autonomous driving, and artificial intelligence technologies to be integrated into JI YUE vehicles, enhancing their capabilities.
Beyond its role in sales and marketing, JI YUE is poised to establish its own charging network across China, aligning with the growing demand for intelligent electric vehicles.
Furthermore, three electric vehicles bearing the JI YUE brand are currently undergoing regulatory approval, as per information provided on China’s industry ministry website.
Geely’s collaboration with Baidu has also given rise to an electric vehicle venture named Jidu. The introduction of JI YUE follows the launch of a “robot” concept car by this partnership, highlighting the joint efforts of the automaker and Baidu in the development of smart vehicles in a competitive global tech landscape.
