The Global Entrepreneurship Network (GEN) will be holding its 2023 congress in Melbourne next year. The organisation is working to enhance collaborations in an innovative ecosystem. This year congress was held in Riyad, Saudi Arabia.
Meanwhile, Digital Nation Australia, managing director for the GEN in Australia said, next year is the right time to host the congress in Melbourne. He added, ” we’ve had a lot of growth in the innovation ecosystem across Australia. There’s a lot of really excellent things happening across the states, particularly in Melbourne, it’s an award-winning ecosystem.”
He is positive about the possibility of strengthening the Melbourne ecosystem through GEC. He said, ” we’re going to be focusing on specific sectors from the life science and the strength along with the health sector and health, and agriculture, and financial services, and consumer support, entertainment and education. ”
Moreover, it would be a challenge to ensure its relevance to a global audience.
Dozen Australian delegates participated in this year’s GEC in Saudi Arabia
Renando says that this year’s delegates will help formulate next year’s event design. GEN team will work with these delegates and other members of the innovative ecosystem. He said,
” There are people that are passionate about it, they live and breathe that within the Australian ecosystem. So, our job rapidly in the next two or three months is to reach out to those people, build up those working groups, come together and say, we’re going to have this major event in 12 months, help inform us about what would make the most impact,”
Though the Australian ecosystem doesn’t lack any programs, it needs to bring all on one platform and have conversations with them and build infrastructure. Also, Renando is hopeful for the success of the event that happening next year in Melbourne.
