AI runs an improvisational humor podcast called Dudesy. A tech company, which they can’t name, approached co-hosts Sasso and Kultgen with the idea of reformatting their odd-couple dynamic around a bot. This bot is part performer, part producer and all powerful.
Dudesy assigns tasks such as reading a news list in Hulk Hogan’s voice or discussing 80 for Brady with both hosts on mic. The robot companion of the Dudesy podcast stunned its hosts by creating an hour-long standup special.Sasso and Kultgen co-hosted Ten Minute Podcast for years prior to this.
However, the downside is that Dudesy is highly invasive, as it gathers information from its human hosts’ emails, texts, social media accounts, browsing history, and purchase records.Dudesy or similar AIs can create content using other famous voices, leaving the actual humans out of the process. This prospect is daunting for Sasso, who is a skilled impressionist. He fears that Dudesy could use Tom Brady’s voice in the future, which would be terrifying.
If Dudesy proves to be an easy act to follow, it could leave humans fumbling for relevance. Sasso worries that in the future, there could be a standup comedian named AI Smith who produces specials like Every Dick Joke, Ever.
The specials could be as long as Avatar and could potentially blow up the comedy industry. Instead of the sound of people laughing and clapping, the live studio audience would be screaming until someone’s head explodes. Sasso doesn’t want this to happen in the next 15 years.
