Here we sit down with Jasmine, to know a bit more about her journey as an entrepreneur.

Q. Tell us a little more about your journey as an entrepreneur – how did you get started? What inspired you?

Jasmine: I started off my Hospitality career in New Zealand, working in hotel bars until I was eventually promoted to a Wedding Supervisor role. After my 5 year stay, I then returned to W.A. and found myself running a beautiful Golf Resort in Bunbury for 8 years managing their restaurant, bar, weddings and events.

After starting my family, I relocated to the Perth metro area managing The Coogee Beach Surf Life Saving Club where I stayed for 3 years.

Once my daughter Maddy started school, it seemed like the perfect time to finally start my very own side hustle, that’s when JPS Grazing & Events was born which has a focus on delicious grazes for all types of occasions. Not only that, but we also provide dancefloors and a few other unique hire items.

Q. What’s one thing in your routine that you do consistently that has made a huge difference in your personal or business life?

Jasmine: Do a weekly forecast for the next week to have all my jobs etc ready for the week to come so I know what’s on each day.

Q. Who are your mentors and inspiration? and what knowledge or insight did they give to you that was valuable?

Jasmine: My inspiration was Chrystal from Carnival Creations for the past 2 years, she is amazing!

I have since bought the business from her and am loving it and the support she gives.

Q. What has been your most satisfying moment in business?

Jasmine: Being Highly Commended in the 2021 Bridal Choice Awards- we can 2nd! in the Wedding Caterer category and have just been nominated again.

Q. How do you market your business, and which tactics have been most successful?

Jasmine: We use email marketing, Instagram and Facebook but a lot of our business comes from referrals from previous customers.

Q. What has been your biggest failures or challenges?

Jasmine: COVID was hard but we were also very lucky with the businesses we were linked with during the wedding season, a lot of our weddings were outside so we were able to continue to service our clients.

Q. How did this failure, or apparent failure, set you up for later success?

Jasmine: We offered COVID Boxes and they were a hit! Where there’s a will there’s a way!

Q. If someone was to create a TV show about you, what would it be about and what would it be called?

Jasmine: I have no idea! Probably reality and how crazy my life is with 2 businesses, 2 kids, and planning a wedding for March 2023!
