Q. What inspired Clare to become an entrepreneur?

Clare: Having worked in a number of Legal Practices, Clare identified a clear need for more streamlined processes that focus on a client’s need, and integrate technology into the legal process so as to increase efficiency and help modernise the legal industry.

Q. How did you get started?

Clare: Identifying a strong aversion to the outdated billable hours and uncertainty of legal fees, Clare wanted to start a business that focused on fixed fee costs, and worked towards ensuring that clients are always involved in their legal matter, encouraging greater confidence and ensuring that clients are fully informed of their rights.

Q. What was your biggest startup challenge? What steps did you take to overcome it? What did you learn?

Clare: With starting a business, there is always risk involved, not just the financial commitments, but the fear of failure. In order to overcome this, I focused largely on establishing relationships within the community to drive natural growth and create a brand within the community.

Q. What is the Most Memorable Thing did you’ve Done Since you Started your Business?

Clare: In the two years since Wainwright Legal was established, we have been faced with the complexities of the pandemic, and updating legal processes so as to ensure that clients are still able to access legal services across technological platforms in the midst of lockdowns and economic uncertainty. Wainwright Legal has also grown our team significantly in our time and has been able to give back to the community by supporting a number of charities including Dachshund Rescue and Beyond Blue.

Q. What is one book you recommend, and why?

Clare: Zero Negativity by Ant Middleton, focuses on the power of the mind and one’s willpower

Q. In terms of legacy, what is the mark you’d like to leave on the world?

Clare: I would want to be remembered as someone who helped others achieve their goals. There is too much competition in the world- People need to learn to help one another and celebrate their successes

Q. In one sentence, what’s the best advice you’d give to someone just starting out on their entrepreneurial journey?

Clare: There are times that might seem tough, but don’t give up. Perseverance determines your success.
