DJI world’s largest commercial drone maker has suspended all activities in Ukraine and Russia. It is a chines based firm that has stopped its commercial activities. Since the beginning of the war, Ukraine’s government has urged the firm to stop its drone from being used by Russia. Meanwhile, for now, the firm has said that its drones are not for military use. And the decision is not a statement about any specific country.
Drones can be Smuggle to Russia
Meanwhile, Taras Troiak, Chairman of the Ukrainian Federation of UAV owner suspect that it will stop Russian soldiers to use the drone against Ukraine. He said that the stores’ supplies of drones might run out in a few months. Further, he also suspects that these drones can be easily smuggle to Russia from China. He further added that the drone was used , ‘’ to look around, to find any soldiers around and to make sure that nobody is very close to you.’’
He added, ‘’ if they want to take, for example, a building or a factory, they can use the drones to find Ukrainian soldiers on the territory.’’
Meanwhile, Troaik says that the firm appears to be neutral but he feels that the supply should be cut to Russia not Ukraine in the situation of conflict.
He says, ‘’ because we are protecting our country. And we are using all sorts of Civilian cars, civilian mobile phones and civilian drones. Sot that I not because we want to use the drones in military use, but actually, we don’t’ have any other choice.’’
Significant step during the conflict
The suspension of the largest commercial drone-maker is quite unusual. Meanwhile, China has remained neutral on the conflict, calling for a peaceful solution. DJI said in a statement, ‘’ DJI is internally reassessing compliance requirements in various jurisdictions. Pending the current review, DJI will temporarily suspend all business activities in Russia and Ukraine.
