Cover-More Group Recruits new CIO

Conor Breslin, the new group chief information officer (CIO) of global travel insurance carrier Cover-More Group, will supervise digital acceleration plans as international travel returns. The ASX-listed firm is a subsidiary of Zurich Insurance Group and provides travel insurance and rapid medical aid in Australia, Argentina, China, Canada, and Malaysia.

Breslin succeeds group CIO Nicki Doble, who will remain with the travel insurance until the end of November to complete a transition. According to the company, Breslin formally assumed the post at the beginning of October “following a thorough search” and will “manage Cover-worldwide More’s IT staff and strategic IT initiatives.” Breslin will also report directly to Cara Morton, CEO of Cover-More Group. Breslin’s ability and quality, according to Morton, would guarantee a good digital transition.

Morton said, “the job of CIO is vital to ensuring our technology is best in class.” as we continue to grow our app-based client offerings and open up a new world of travel safety for travelers. “Conor offers a lot of business knowledge that will reinforce our sustained successful recovery from the Covid-19 pandemic’s impact on global travel and the tourism sector.” Breslin manages IT teams across the United States, Asia Pacific, Latin America, and Europe from London headquarters.

He comes to Cover-More from the UK-based Provident Financial Group and Vanquis Bank as a CIO. Breslin previously served as EasyJet’s head of strategy and architecture from 2014 until 2017. He was also the BBC’s human resource technology delivery head at one point, overseeing learning, finance, and procurement overhaul. For over three years, Breslin previously worked for the pharmaceutical giant AstraZeneca in different IT jobs and Accenture for 11 years as a management consultant.
