Coles intends to develop a digital wallet based on Beem.

Coles Group and Australian Payments Plus (AP+) have collaborated to launch a new digital wallet that aims to streamline the checkout process by utilizing the Beem payment technology.

The digital wallet will enable customers to make purchases at physical stores using an eftpos QR code. AP+ comprises BPAY Group, eftpos Australia, and NPP Australia, and is committed to creating new digital innovations for retailers to enhance the customer experience.

The Beem wallet technology, acquired by eftpos in 2020, will power this digital payment solution. Coles CEO of Emerging Businesses, George Saoud, stated that customers desire a swift and effortless payment experience, and this innovative digital solution aims to deliver precisely that.

Furthermore, AP+ has secured support from Australia’s “big four” banks for its digital identity exchange ConnectID platform, which is anticipated to roll out later this year.
