The Northern Territory’s Department of Corporate and Digital Development (DCDD) has announced Chris Hosking as its new permanent CEO(pdf). Hosking had been serving in an acting capacity since May 2022, following the transition of his predecessor, Kathleen Robinson, to the role of acting CEO of the Department of Chief Minister and Cabinet.

Hosking’s extensive responsibilities encompass a wide spectrum of areas, including finance, human resources services, contract services, property leasing, fleet services, enterprise project services, ICT services, and data center services. The DCDD’s mandate extends to developing the Northern Territory’s digital strategy and driving digital initiatives, strategy advice, and assurance controls.

In his role as CEO, Hosking will lead the efforts in cybersecurity, data and digital development, and overall government corporate and IT services for the Northern Territory. Hosking’s impressive 25-year background in delivering shared services across various NT departments and his eight-year tenure as deputy chief executive were cited as factors contributing to his appointment.

Ngaree Ah Kit, the minister for corporate and digital development, expressed confidence in Hosking’s capabilities, emphasizing his experience and contribution to the Northern Territory public service. Hosking’s appointment aligns with the department’s commitment to delivering for the residents of the Northern Territory.
