Chocolate Bars Recalled Due to Undeclared Allergen

An undeclared allergen has resulted in the recall of three varieties of vegan and dairy-free chocolate. The products were recalled after it was discovered that they may contain milk, which was not listed as an ingredient on the label.

Manna Confectionary’s affected products are the plain milk chocolate bars having a best before date of November 14, 2023 , while plain white bars have a best before of March 28, 2023. The salted caramel flavour is included in the recall, with best before dates of July 13, 2023 and November 17, 2023.

The recall is due to the presence of milk, said the NSW Food Authority.

“If the product is consumed, any consumers who have a milk allergy or intolerance may have a reaction,” the Food Authority said.

“If anyone has a milk allergy or intolerance, do not consume this product and return the products to the place of purchase for a full refund.”

Those who are allergic to milk may experience serious reactions if they consume these products. Those with allergies should return the affected products to the place of purchase for a full refund.

The product was sold in South Australia at Blackebys Sweets Stores in Adelaide and Modbury between August 10 and September 27.
