Steve Vallas, CEO of Blockchain Australia, has resigned after two years of promoting the cutting-edge technology throughout Australia.
After initially announcing his resignation a few months ago, Vallas made the announcement on LinkedIn on Friday, stating that his tenure as CEO “comes to an end.”
It has been an extraordinary joy for me to share and tell people’s tales across Australia and to the rest of the world, said Vallas.
“Blockchain Australia is the leading national industry association and a company that has earned international acclaim for its contributions to the field. Your voice has been and will continue to be the key to its success.
“I want to thank the past and present board members for allowing me to manage this association.”
No need for goodbyes, Vallas said, “you won’t have a chance to miss me.” He praised his crew. I’ll be back shortly.
As a supporter of the blockchain, Vallas serves as vice chair of the ASEAN Blockchain Consortium and deputy head of the National Blockchain Roadmap Steering Committee.
Additionally, he serves on the ASIC Digital Finance Advisory Panel, which offers guidance to the regulator on issues related to financial and regulatory technologies.
In addition to serving as CEO of Blockchain Australia, Vallas served as a mentor for Swinburne University of Technology’s accelerator programme as a component of the Swinburne Innovation Precinct.
Vallas also served on the International Digital Asset Exchange Association (IDAXA) council for a year and a half, and from 219 until 2021, he served as a mentor for the Melbourne Accelerator Program.
In 2018, he helped establish a number of blockchain events and founded the digital marketing firm Honey Digital.
