TikTok is the most famous app that youth is using off late. Now it has become a new place to find Gen-Z staff for the multi nationals of the world.
Chipotle, Target, WWE and Shopify are among the companies that are joining TikTok Resume initiative. It is a new testing program that enables job seekers to post videos on social media acting as their resume.
Post-Pandemic Hiring
Employment offer is one of the ways companies communicate with potential employees as the battle for talent intensifies.
Restaurants, bars, and fast food chains find it very difficult to hire replacements for those who were furloughed or suspended at the beginning of the COVID outbreak. Many of these workers are not comfortable returning to the industry or they are either still on the sidelines, or have planned on leaving the industry altogether.
Hiring Done Via TikTok
Since most of the staff at Chipotle restaurants are youngsters and millennials, “why not lean into their energy?” Andrada said. “TikTok Resumes is a way to engage with them in a way they already like to connect with us.”
With the increase in job-related content on social media, Andrada said allowing people to show off their creativity is an effective way for the company to find the right talent. “You see their appreciation and love for our food and get an idea of how this person will be as a member of the team, which is different than just accepting the traditional CV of a candidate,” he said.
Incentives
Restaurants, bars and fast food chains are doing their best to lure workers back to their places now as people feel more comfortable going out to eat indoors.
In addition to the initiative of hiring employees of TikTok videos, Chipotle is planning to hire a wide network of new employees. On July 15, the restaurant chain marked the coast-to-coas career day at all restaurants. The aim, says Andrada, is to recruit 15,000 staff to assist workers in their existing facilities and another 200 new facilities planned to open by the end of 2021.
High salaries are one of the few incentives that restaurants, bars and fast food chains use to attract employees.
