Binance Joins Global Alliance to Tackle Blockchain Crimes

Binance

Binance has become the first member of T3+, a global collaboration program launched by Tether, TRON, and TRM Labs to combat illicit activities on the blockchain. The alliance aims to strengthen cooperation between the crypto industry and law enforcement to build a safer and more transparent ecosystem.

Since its launch in September 2024, the T3 Financial Crime Unit has frozen more than $250 million in illegal assets. Working with law enforcement agencies across five continents, it has disrupted criminal networks and tracked suspicious transactions in real time.

First Case Freezes $6 Million
Although new to T3+, Binance has already taken part in its first case. In coordination with other members, the company froze nearly $6 million linked to a pig butchering scam. Nils Andersen-Röed, Binance’s Global Head of the Financial Intelligence Unit, said joining T3+ reflects the company’s commitment to working with industry partners and regulators to stop illegal activity.

T3 FCU has monitored millions of transactions worth over $3 billion in under a year, enabling it to quickly identify and halt cross-border criminal operations. The program’s goal is to expand cooperation with exchanges, financial institutions, and other stakeholders to strengthen monitoring and share intelligence.

Industry leaders from Tether, TRON, and TRM Labs praised the results achieved so far, noting that freezing over $250 million in under a year shows what’s possible when the public and private sectors work together. They stressed that collaboration remains essential to making cryptocurrency safe and trusted worldwide.
